Ali Caglayan
I am a senior researcher at the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), where I am part of the Geoinformation Service Research Group in the Intelligent Platforms Research Institute.
My research focuses on computer vision, including 2D/3D scene understanding, point cloud understanding, visual simultaneous localization and mapping, and remote sensing applications.
Beyond research, I am interested in developing and applying systems that address real-world social challenges and create meaningful social and economic impact. Outside work, I enjoy climbing, mountaineering, and traveling in Japan and beyond.
